PREMISE: Accolade's effort at taking the best of the the Sonic and Mario platform games and tack-welding them into something else. Bubsy is a smart-mouthed pant-less bobcat who's best attribute is the way he dies during the game.
IMPRESSIONS: Mix Mario's poor defensive abilities with Sonic's speed and you have...a disaster. The graphics are nice, the the main character is funny, and the pace is fast, but the need to land precisely on enemies' heads gets tedious after a few stages. The sequel is more of the same - if you liked the first, then you'll like the
second.

VARIATIONS: Bubsy: Clawed Encounters of the Furred Kind - 1992, has great graphics and sound but loaded with cheap shots and it's way too easy to die. That's probably by design, though, as the death sequences are a riot.
Bubsy 2 - 1994, more levels to explore, more secrets and hilarious bonus rounds (dig the frog toss), and more awful bad puns. The hilarious death sequences are still the best part, but at least now it's not as easy to die.
