Original Japanese version of Final Fantasy 4. Much more challenging than the US release which lacks most plot parts, items, text, and abilities- all of which were retained in the original japanese version. A rom HAS been translated by J2E

Actually Final Fantasy IV toned down and renamed for american players, this is the first installment of the Final Fantasy series for SNES. Not much really stands out in my mind about this game, it's average compared to others. The down side of this game, to me as a gamer, was not only the fact they tried to conceil the absence of the other two NES games by changing the number, but that we received the "easytype" of the game. Many still concider this game a classic, agrueably the best of the series. I've not personally finished the hard type yet, but Final Fantasy V was much nicer, in my opponion.
FFIV is still one of the best rpgs for the snes. It's plot is one of the most well thought up of any rpg.
Only version of Final Fantasy 4 officially released in the United States. This was actually a translation of the 'toned down' version made for kids in Japan. This was to make the game easer for children. It lacked most of the features in the original version- including many weapons, items, and a special item, the "Porno Mag," which couldn't actually be viewed. |

SQUARE умеет делать замечательные RPG. Final Fantasy погружает нас в сказочный мир, описать который просто не хватит слов. В эту игру надо просто поиграть, чтобы понять что я имею в виду. Как всегда - отпугивает долгое вступление, но для чего же тогда существует пропуск кадров в эмуляторе? После этого обещаю полное погружение в игру. |

Теперь каждый персонаж обладает уникальными свойствами и умениями. Музыка настолько потрясающая, что Square выслала всем лицензионным игрокам диски с музыкой. Как всегда, сотни тайников и интерестных мелочей позвалают продливать процесс прохождения во многие разы. Если вы любите РПГ, а точнее творения Square, то это для вас!
The last of the Final Fantasy series to be released for any Nintendo system, Final Fantasy VI showed a bit of improvement on the side of graphics. However the game falls out of balance quickly, espically after getting espers. The story was alright, but this is not one of my favorates of the series. The music from this game, however, is some of the best in any Final Fantasy game.
Flying_Arsedoctor: From my point of view this was the peak of the series, possibly not including VII. The combat system was refined from V and the story is much more gripping, even from early on. That and the increased dose of humour that was reflected in Chrono Trigger and then in FFVII, a welcome improvement.
[The odd numbering is due to the fact that this was the sixth FF game in Japan, but only the 3rd to get a US release, hence the English translation was badged as Final Fantasy III] Released only in Japan, but unofficial english translation is available.
