PREMISE: Take the throttle of your choice of several modern military attack helicopters in three different theaters of operations in this first-person "behind the back" arcade flight sim.
IMPRESSIONS: Pretty slick for its day, and makes good use of scaling and rotation on the scrolling terrain. It actually leans more toward being a shooter, and that probably suits arcade fans just fine. |

PREMISE: This is the tale of a bright little blond-haired girl who is in fact the worst sorceress-in-training to ever be inflicted upon Servai the magician. She is constantly being pursued by a bunch of incompetent bad guys for some unknown reason, and shares many misadventures with her two friends Riya and Shiine. Based on the wild and wacky anime series created by Aiyahana Min.
IMPRESSIONS: Well, uh...ummm...uh...what can I say? Looks and sounds great, as do all Japanese RPGs, and seems to make a decent effort at capturing some of the show's sense of humor. Now if only we could get a translation patch....
VARIATIONS: This game is often referred to as Red Riding Hood Cha
Cha, due no doubt to its title character resembling the title character of the Grimm fairy tale (not accidental, or so I understand).

PREMISE: For hundreds of years, the legendary Transylvanian vampire known as Dracula has stalked the night, feeding on the life blood of the living and inspiring evil wherever he set foot. For hundreds of years, it has been the self-appointed job of the Belmont family to seek out the places where Dracula and his followers would dare to abide and free them from the vampire's curse.
This is a venerated series of action games whose roots are in the 8-bit days of computer gaming and which continues in new games and spinoffs as of this date.
IMPRESSIONS: The Castlevania series is legendary for its overall excellence in side-scrolling platform action, and the two SNES/SFC titles are no exception. The first is a souped-up port of the revered NES/FC game of the same name and is considered by many to be the best version of that title to date - Rage Games praises its gameplay and music in particular. The second was ported from the PC Engine CD-ROM game of the same name and suffered in the
translation; however, it was the first to employ anime-graphics in its design (which would come to their fruition in the highly regarded Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the Playstation).
VARIATIONS: In practice with many other SNES/SFC titles, the first Castlevania game for this console has the word "Super" tacked on front. All titles are listed here for convienence's sake.
