  1. I'm in 2300 A.D. and I can't see through the clouds. How can I fix this?
This is a problem that only affects emulators. So, the obvious solution would be to play the actual game, and stop using the emulator. However since the game is pretty much out of print, that's not much of a solution. Supposedly, several of the emulators either support transparently properly, or allow you to turn off the different layers. The two emulators that get suggested the most are NLKSNES and ZSNES. Sorry, that's all the information I am willing to give.
  2. Where is the best place to power up?
There are several good places to power up. My favorite in order of preference is:
    1. The Geno Dome (2300 A.D.)
    2. The Black Omen (multiple time periods)
    3. Death Peak (2300 A.D.)
    4. Giant's Claw (600 A.D.)
  3. Where is Magus' most powerful equipment?
His most powerful weapons and armor are available in the year 600 A.D. in Ozzie's Fort. There is a secret area in a room with an oddly shaped blank area on the right side of the screen. Go to top of this blank area, and try to walk down through the wall. Inside this area will be the weapons and a magic tab
  4. Who is the person close to me?
In my opinion, it is Queen Zeal. Go through the Black Omen and kick her butt back to prehistoric times. Though others claim it may be either King Guardia, or Lucca's Mom.
  5. What do I do with the sealed doors and chests?
You won't be able to open then until fairly late in the game. The key to the doors and chests is the Pendant that you have. BUT, something must happen to that Pendant in order to be able to open them.
Note: If you are in the year 600 A.D. and you have the option of taking an item out of a chest, or leaving it alone, leave it alone!! Go to the year 1000 A.D. and search that chest, and the item will have powered up! Now, go back to 600 A.D. and you can take the original item as well! See the section on sealed chests and doors for more details.
  6. How do I get weapons for Ayla?
You get weapons for Ayla by going up levels. Ayla's Iron Fist comes at level 73 and Bronze at level 96.(submitted by Mike Leaver)
  7. What is your opinion on which character to use?
    1. Crono - He is always a good character to use. His sword is always one of the most powerful weapons, and his magic is formidable if you give him magic tabs. Luminaire works wonders on most bosses.
    2. Lucca - She is a very good character to use. Early in the game, her weapon leaves much to be desired, but once she gets the Wondershot, she is powerful. And her magic is almost always top notch.
    3. Marle - I hardly ever use Marle except to pair her up with Lucca for Antipode 3, one of the best spells in the game.
    4. Robo - He is good for the early parts of the game. He is a strong fighter, and has decent tech. But, later in the game he is left in the dust when the others get their most powerful weapons.
    5. Frog - He is a good fighter for the later parts of the game. But until he gets the powered up Masamune, he is not worth taking along in my opinion.
    6. Ayla - She is always good to have in your party. She is an excellent fighter, and the added income from her charm technique is an added bonus. She really starts to show off her power in the higher levels, as her attack power goes up with her levels. The Iron and Bronze Fist makes her critical hits that much more deadly.
    7. Magus - Sadly, Magus is not one of my favorite characters to use. His most powerful weapon doesn't do enough damage to be a good fighter, and his magic seems to be less effective than Crono's on many enemies.
  8. So then who do you recommend taking with you?
Crono, Lucca, and Marle is my favorite party. Luminaire and Antipode 3 can stop most bosses in their tracks, and seriously dent the rest of them.
  9. Can I defeat Ozzie?
This is an interesting question indeed. I have had Ayla do 9999 points of damage to Ozzie, and the game would not let me select him for attack afterward. I could only select the winches behind him.
  10. How do I use a colored stone?
Go to the item screen, and look at the rock. It will tell you who can use the rock. Then equip one of the people in the list with the rock, and go to the tech screen. Look at that persons triple tech, and highlight the new one. It will tell you who needs to be in your party to use it, and how much MP it costs to cast it. If you find you still cannot cast the triple tech, you probably don't have the spells required to do so.
  11. So where are they?
    1. Blue Stone - Giant's Claw, in a chest
    2. Black Stone - Kingdom of Zeal, City of Kajar. It is in a hidden room. Open the books around the city in this order: water, wind, fire
    3. Gold Stone - Denadoro Mts. - after getting the powered up Masamune, have Frog lead your party. Head to the Denadoro Mts. to where a Freelancer is throwing rocks at you. Catch one and it becomes the gold rock
    4. Silver Stone - Laruba Ruins, talk to the Nu there, and it will give you the stone
    5. White Stone - Black Omen, in a chest
  12. Are there any codes for CT?
There is one, but it is only good for resetting the game. It is Start, Select, Right and Left button all at once. This acts like the reset button of the game.
  13. So can you cheat in CT at all?
But of course. Any real cheating requires a Game Genie. But there are a few small cheats you can do. Start a new game +, then go to Guardia Forest, and collect the power tab. Exit, save, and reset. Repeat until you have enough. Or, if you really have time to kill, go all the way up to where Spekkio is, and defeat him, then save and reset. For both methods, start a new game + using the saved game data, and you will have your newly collected tabs.
And there are always Game Genie codes.
  14. How do you get this "New Game +"?
Beat the game by going through the Black Omen. Then when the end appears, reset the game as mentioned above. You should now have New Game + appear right beside regular New Game.
  15. So what does it do?
It allows you to start a new game, but with most of your items, and all of your levels and stats from a previous game.
  16. Most of your items???
You lose your gold, and some special items like the Masamune and Hero Medal. But you get to keep such things as the Rainbow sword, and Prism Specs.
  17. What are the forms of Spekkio, and what do I get for defeating him?
    Chart of Spekkio's Forms
  18. Do I get anything special for a really high score in the bike race?
Yes, you do get items for high scores in the bike race. These are what I've found so far:
1300+ points: 5 Mid-ethers (according to SuperBoll, you get 5 Mid-Tonics and not what the game says)
1500+ points: 1 Power Tab (you can only get the power tab once)
    2000+ points: 5 ethers, 1 Power Tab
You can get different items by getting special scores:
777 points: 5 Mid-ethers or Mid-tonics (submitted by Bob Hubler)
999 points: 1 ether (submitted by Gizzy Salm)
1111 points: Ether (submitted by J. Cato)
If you find any that I haven't gotten, please let me know.
  19. How do I get such a high score in the bike race?
The easiest way that I know of is as follows:
(submitted by someone who calls himself Polax)
Get the Race Log (found by going through Lab 32 instead of racing through it
Talk to the robot that gives you the high scores, and tell it you want to be in non-turbo mode
Start the race, and press the Left button to rotate the screen until you see it head-on
Do your best to stay in front of Johnny. I found that slow-motion helps with this a bit
  20. What does the game mean when it says "10,000,000 G to fix the broken map"?
I believe this is a joke in the game. For one, I know of no broken map. Secondly, and most importantly, you cannot get 10,000,000 G in the game! The maximum you can get is 9,999,999 G which is 1 less than it asks for!
