PREMISE: Bizyland was a happy and peaceful place, ruled over by a benevolent king who did nothing but play all day. That is, until the evil Queen Wagawama of Lazyland used her magic mirror to switch her country with his. Now his daughter is trapped in the Queen's magic mirror, his treasures are in the hand of the evil Queen, and his only hope for heroes to aid him are those people who (like him) do nothing but play all day and thus remain unaffected by the Queen's magic spells.
If you can stand the cutesy atmosphere, then it's a pretty good clone of Qix. Nice, cute graphics, but a little too kawaii for me.

PREMISE: Hey, dude! Are you tired of those Olympic sims with all those old-fashioned events? Boring! Try your hand at summer games, California style: hang gliding, body
boarding, jet surfing, and both skate and snowboarding. Awesome!
IMPRESSIONS: Better graphics than the original, to be sure, but limited event selection and an uninspiring sound mix relegated it to those who are fans of the original series (see below). I prefer the NES cart to this, even though its graphics show their age.
VARIATIONS: This is but one of the many titles in the classic 8-bit "Games" series originally produced by Epyx for the venerated Commodore 64 computer, and is the only one that made the 16-bit transition to the SNES/SFC. A port of the first California Games can be found in the NES/FC library. |

PREMISE: A very radical bike racing game, and one of the few entries in the genre for the SNES/SFC. You take part in a series of tournaments as your pick of eight different,
er, um, "contestants" - not all of whom may be human. Oh, and did I mention the dirt bikes?
IMPRESSIONS: Looks great, sounds great, and has some interesting characters as racers. Too bad the gameplay bites. |

PREMISE: This was one of the very first American football games (if not the first) released for the SNES/SFC. According to Pocky, it was originally issued as an exclusive to video rental store chains such as Erol's and Blockbuster.
IMPRESSIONS: An arcade-style clone of the Madden NFL series - which means that it's light on options and heavy on action. This seems to enjoy a limited popularity among those who are more concerned with firing up a fast game and would rather not worry about lots of setup time. Graphics are comparable to the Madden NFL series, but not the sound. |

PREMISE: Side-scroll platform fighter inspired by the DC Comics superhero about the battle between good and evil, personified by Captain America and the superhero team known as the Avengers versus the criminal organization led by the malicious former Nazi known as the Red Skull.
IMPRESSIONS: It's gonna take a long time for you to get the bad taste out of your mouth after playing this game. Control is sluggish, enemies are monotonously predictable, sound is sub-par - in fact, the only good thing about it are the occasional speech samples. |

PREMISE: In a post-apocalyptic world populated by cyborgs and mutants, the only hope for justice is Captain Commando and his fellow "commandoes." Based on the classic Capcom side-scrolling arcade fighting game.
IMPRESSIONS: The arcade classic comes to the SNES in an excellent port. Sound is okay, but has lots of annoying "beeps" and "boops." Cool, but gets boring after a while. I like it anyway, even if it is a tad easy. |
